How to put multiple pages on one sheet

To create an N-up PDF, drop the file in, choose how many pages go on each sheet, and press the button. Pages are copied onto new sheets rather than re-rendered, so text stays sharp. Eight pages at four-up becomes two sheets; nine pages at four-up becomes three, with the last sheet partly empty.

What N-up does and does not do

Pages are scaled to fit their slot, so a four-up A4 sheet holds four quarter-size pages. Text stays vector and sharp, but it also gets smaller — four-up on A4 is comfortable for reference, tight for reading. The last sheet is left partly empty rather than padding the document. Links inside a page keep working; the page order is preserved left to right, top to bottom.

Questions

How many pages can I put on one sheet?

Two, four, six or nine. Four is the usual choice for handouts; two keeps text large enough to read comfortably.

What happens to the last sheet if pages do not divide evenly?

It is left partly empty. Nine pages at four-up produces three sheets, with three slots unused on the last one.

Does N-up reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied, not rasterised, so text stays vector and images keep their resolution — they are simply drawn smaller.

Can I add margins and gaps?

Yes. Margins control the distance from the sheet edge; the gap controls spacing between pages.

Why is the text so small at nine-up?

Nine pages on A4 leaves each page about a third of the width. It works for reference sheets and cheat cards, not for reading prose.

Does it work in landscape?

Yes. Landscape suits two-up and six-up layouts, where pages sit side by side.

Can I print double-sided?

Yes — the output is a normal PDF, so your printer settings decide.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The composition happens in your browser.
