How to crop a PDF page

To crop a PDF, drop the file in and drag the blue box over the area you want to keep, or type the margins in millimetres. Choose whether the crop applies to one page, all pages, or only odd or even pages, then press Crop PDF. SailPDF sets a real crop box, so the trimmed page is what every viewer shows.

1

Add your PDF

Choose a file or drop it in. The first page appears with a draggable crop box on top.

2

Set the crop

Drag the box or its corners, or type exact margins in millimetres. Switch pages to check each one.

3

Crop and download

Pick how many pages to apply it to, press Crop PDF, and download the trimmed file.

What Crop PDF does and does not do

Cropping sets the page crop box, which is the area viewers display and print. Content outside it is hidden rather than deleted from the file, so the underlying objects remain — good for layout, not a tool for redacting secrets. Margins are in millimetres, applied from each page edge, and a crop never enlarges a page. Auto-trimming white margins is not available yet; it needs content detection we are not willing to guess at.

Private by design

SailPDF crops files with code that runs in your browser. Your PDF is never sent to a server.

Questions

How do I crop a PDF?

Drop the file in, drag the blue box over the area to keep — or type exact margins — then press Crop PDF. The cropped page is what viewers and printers will show.

Is cropping a PDF free?

Yes. No account, no watermark, and no page limit beyond your device memory.

Are margins in millimetres or inches?

Millimetres. 10 mm is about 0.39 inches; 25.4 mm is exactly one inch, so if you work in inches, multiply by 25.4.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes. Choose This page, All pages, Odd or Even. Only the pages you pick get the crop box; the others keep their original size.

Does cropping delete the hidden content?

No. Cropping hides everything outside the box; the objects are still inside the file. If you need to remove sensitive content permanently, that is redaction, not cropping.

Why did my page get smaller instead of bigger?

A crop can only take area away. To add margins around a page, you need a different tool — cropping never enlarges the page.

Can I undo a crop?

Keep the original file. Once the cropped copy is saved, the visible area is fixed in that copy, although the underlying content is still present.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Cropping runs inside your browser tab, so the file never leaves your device.
